Why is there sewage odors in my house?
Many people smell sewage/septic odors in their homes. The probable causes for this could be damaged or blocked plumbing vent, sewage back up in the house, unsealed sump pump; dry p-trap.

It is commonly known/referred to as a septic system. A septic system are underground wastewater treatment structures. They are use to remove wastewater from the household plumbing produced by bathroom, kitchen drains and laundry. There are many type of septic system, however they mainly consist of a septic tank and drain field/ leach field. Here is a diagram of a septic system As you can see from the above the diagram the operation of a septic system if you were to flushed your toilet. The waste water would flow from the house through the inlet pipe into the septic tank and flow out of the septic tank to the drain field and eventually dispense into the ground.
How can I prevent a Septic Failure?

Make sure you get your Septic Tank pump out every 3-5 years
Avoid excessive water usage
Be careful what you put down the drains and what you’re flushing down the toilet: No Disposable wipes, No oil and No paint.
Flush only Human waste and toilet paper
Minimal usage of garbage disposal

Why is sewage surfacing in my yard?
There are many reason for water/sewage to surface in your yard. The probable causes could be excess water use, system blockage, drainfield failure, damaged drainfield, undersized system, septic pump failure.
Will pumping my septic tank resolve the Septic Tank failure?
No. It will only be a temporary fix for several days. A fail system will needs to be repaired or replaced.
Why is there sewage odors outside my house?
If you are smelling sewage/ rotting egg smell outside your house. The probable causes could be sewage surfacing in your yard, septic tank risers damaged or missing lids, septic system failure, neighbor’s system failure.
Why is Sewage backing up in my house?
If sewage is backing up in your house, the probable causes could be leaking fixtures, blockage in house plumbing, pump failure, tree roots, clogged pipes ; improper system design. Failed system/old.
